3 things that I've learnt

Only a handful of people , like the closest friends/ family members or your partner would know who you really are . Most of the other people would have an image of you which is not necessary right but it's a waste of time trying to prove otherwise or explain them that they've mistaken you. Actions speak louder then words. It's really pointless to spend hours explaining yourself- just leave it, let them discover or at least have a glimpse of who you are by showing them. People always get a better insight if they examine your actions. Knowledge gives you (not only power) but responsibility . Once you discover something new, it cannot be unknown (once seen cannot be unseen). Since you know things that others yet might not, it should be within your ethical codex to help them! However (here's comes the contradiction): some people don't want to be saved . Usually, when you're trying to point out something that you already know, the vast majority o

12 books that changed my life

Some books have the power to dramatically change the way we're thinking. Until now, I've read a lot of different writings that have left a huge impact on my life. I'd like to share some of them, the best ones. (I tried to take pictures of my own copies so you can see the translator in most cases. There are some that I've read in an electronic form or rented from a library so I just took an online photo of those!)   Animal Farm from George Orwell       An all-time classic. Needless to mention 1984  which is the other well-known masterpiece from Orwell. Animal Farm presents a really short yet very meaningful story where we can find some shocking parallels. Orwell's style is both raw and instructive.       2. The Bhagavad Gita If it was up to me, I'd definitely make this book obligatory in middle school! Hindus in India actually learn all the verses (18 chapters, 700 slokas!!!) in sanskrit from a very young age (some of them even r

Mauna - how to shut up peacefully

So I've decided to write a bit about this thing called "Mauna". First we should clarify what it is. Mauna is the sanskrit word of "silence". It plays a huge part in the Hindu Philosophy. If you're familiar with the Vedas (collection of the oldest sacred texts originating in ancient India), you might have already heard about it. To be more exact, Mauna is mentioned several times in the Rig Veda. Silence, the absence of speech is inevitable when it comes to reaching and maintaining inner peace and tranquility. The best way to practice it is to just simply stop talking for a while. It's even more challenging (and of course effective!) if you're surrounded with a bunch of other people. Well, that's how I tried it. So here's my experience: I was in a yoga camp for a few days last summer. It took place near the Balaton, in a small village called Aszófő. The location, in itself, was pretty well chosen that had a refreshing atmosphere- it was

Existence

Existence: One - Nous - Soul(s) My thoughts on existence- please be aware that the fundamentals of this approach are originating from Plotinus' teachings (all the words/expressions and sometimes the definitions of the One, Nous and Soul are his ideas that I'm not taking the credit for. Although, I added my interpretations of such issues mentioned above, so this article is not an explanation of Plotinus' work, but rather a mix of his influence on my point of view). There is something which is the source and origin of everything. Let's call it One . One is the biggest; it is the supreme "power", it's not sentient nor self-aware (it has no "self" and it would be pointless to put labels on it or name characteristics because it's beyond all categories of being and non-being). It pervades everything we perceive on this Earth and even beyond that. Everything is just a part of it, yet it includes everything. Earthly words could not describe th
